Watch Oakland Raiders vs Washington Redskins live on your HD TV

Time to move on, move forward, and get over it.  Denver Broncos week has come and gone, we lost, now it’s time to welcome in the Washington Redskins.  As far as I am concerned, the Broncos game was a harsh learning experience that this team, the Oakland Raiders, should learn and grow from.  Robert Griffin, III, is on his way into the Black Hole that is the home of the Oakland Raiders.  It’s time to get back into the win column.  The Raiders matchup well against a struggling Redskins team, but we cannot take anything for granted.  One huge positive, the Raiders defense plays against Terrelle Pryor in practice all the time.  They should be well prepared to take on the “East Coast Offense,” which is more commonly known as the Read Option, Pistol, Zone Read, or Play Action scheme.

Since it is Redskins week and since I’m the old man of this site, I thought it only fitting that I give Raider Nation a little piece of history.  First and foremost, the Washington Redskins were established in 1932 as an NFL team, and the Oakland Raiders were established in 1960 as an AFL team.  Both teams have met on the battle field a total of 11 times, with the Oakland Raiders having the upper hand 7 wins to 4 losses.
The first meeting between the two teams took place in 1970 when the Raiders beat the Skins 34-20 with Raiders Head Coach John Madden leading the team.  That’s right all you younger Raiders Fans, the man whose name adorns the popular video game “Madden Football” spearheaded the Oakland Raiders back in the day.  I know it’s common knowledge for most people and for true die-hard Raiders fans, but trust me when I say there are those out there that didn’t know Madden used to be head coach of the Raiders.  Sad but true.
